Cucumbers contain 95% water, which helps in hydrating the skin, removing impurities and dead skin cells, opening and cleaning pores, moisturizing and removing excess oil from the skin. Also Cucumber has a cold effect on the skin helping to reduce inflamed red acne and makes your skin moist, firm and hydrated naturally. Amino acids and minerals in cucumber help tighten and energize the skin. Apply cucumber juice on your face with cotton wool and wash it off after 20-30 mins.
The acidity in tomatoes helps the skin dry up acne and abundant vitamins (A,C and K) along with lycopene, accelerates the acne healing process. Apply a mixture of tomato pulp (not packaged pulp), honey and rose-water to your face 20 mins before taking a bath.
Potato are a rich source of vitamin C – which boosts collagen production and vitamin B -that helps maintain healthy DNA production and skin cell regeneration. The Alkaline nature of potatoes works as a powerful antidote for acne and its mild yet effective antibacterial properties kill acne-causing bacteria. Niacin in potatoes lightens hyper-pigmented skin caused by acne or other skin conditions. Take a piece of potato, mash it and then apply it onto acne. Leave the potato for a few minutes then wash your skin gently with lukewarm water.
