Genes from both the mother and father make us who we are. There are 23 chromosomes that we get from the mother, while the remaining 23 come from the father—genes from these chromosomes determines our unique characteristic features. While some genes become recessive and don’t show up, others predominantly define our personality and how we look. It has long been known that it is genes from the father that define whether the baby will be a boy or a girl. But, there are many other traits that come from the father’s side. Here are a few traits that your baby is more likely to get from their father.
1. Eye Color: Blue, Green, Grey Or Brown
Wondering what your baby’s eye color would be? Look into your partner’s eyes.
Usually, the dark colored eyes like brown are more dominant. This means if either of the parents has brown eyes, the baby is likely to have brown eyes. However, if the father has a recessive eye color like blue, and your eyes are brown, your baby will have their father’s blue eyes.
2. Lips Like Father
When you are thinking what your baby will be like, you start with facial characteristics and one among them is lips. Fuller lips are a dominant trait, and if the would-be father has them, you can bet on your baby having them too.
3. Hair Color And Type
Will the baby have brown hair or black hair, straight or curly hair? Will it be same as her dad like the eye color? Probably, yes. Nothing is more adorable than a baby flashing a dimple when they are laughing. If their father has a dimple, chances are your baby will also have two cute depressions in their chubby cheeks.

Genetic researchers conducted experiments to find out that the genes from the father have an upper hand in determining the genes that will be dormant.1 So, it is not wrong to say that we are more like our dads.
