Cloudy urine is pretty normal if you have consumed a lot of dairy products. However, in individuals suffering from diseases like kidney stones, enlarged prostate or progressive renal diseases, cloudy urine is a characteristic symptom. Even in early pregnancy, many women notice a murky appearance of urine. People with uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension also complain of having cloudy urine.
The average healthy person needs to pee 6–7 times a day and at most once at night. The number also depends on your lifestyle, fluid intake, and health. Never hold it in if possible – this cuts your risk of UTIs, leakage, and abdominal bloating. Also beware of peeing too little or too much. Both can indicate a kidney disease. While peeing too little indicates dehydration or shock, peeing too much can indicate a UTI, prostate problem, or diabetes.
Simple things like dehydration or something you ate (fava beans, beets, blackberries, rhubarb) can give your urine a darker color. So can urinary tract infections, liver diseases, gallstones, kidney stones, an enlarged prostate gland, and cancer. So if your urine's dark and you’ve ruled out the obvious things like dehydration and certain foods then it might be a good idea to visit a doctor.
From sweet smelling pee that shrieks of uncontrolled diabetes to urine that smells strongly of ammonia due to urinary stones or musty due to liver trouble, the reasons for the change in the smell of your urine are numerous. At times, an unusual urine odor may also stem from underlying medical causes such as dehydration, UTIs, or maple syrup urine disease.
The cooling effect of cucumber makes it a favorite summer sack. But, is it safe to rely on this crunchy veggie too much? If you have cucumber beyond moderation, its diuretic effect may harm you. Sometimes, cucumbers cause bloating and indigestion. And those who are allergic to ragweed pollen may have reactions when they eat cucumbers.
Cow urine has been hailed as a panacea for many ailments in the ancient Indian scriptures and Ayurveda. It has been shown to be a miracle product almost and not just a toxic output. Studies support that cow urine can be an effective cure for chronic diseases and daily health.
Excessive caffeine or fluid intake can cause you to urinate more frequently than the normal 4-7 times every 24 hrs. If you cannot explain the incessant urination, it’s best you get checked for underlying health conditions that prevent normal bladder control. These include diabetes, interstitial cystitis, chronic kidney disease, impaired nervous control, and an enlarged prostate.
Nocturia might not always be an outcome of an urological problem and affects both sexes. Excess fluid consumption closer to bedtime, diabetes medications, water retention due to edema, age-related decline in kidney function, obstructive sleep apnea, and an overactive bladder are common causes. Control fluid and salt intake, take bladder relaxants, and treat underlying medical issues.
To pee or not to pee standing up is the question. For starters, sitting down ensures that you don't leave behind any pee on the toilet seat. Sitting down also improves your bladder and prostate health, reduces LUTS, and fully empties your bladder. Some experts also associate sitting down to pee with better sexual performance, thanks to improved prostate health.
