Managing oily skin takes extra effort, but it’s possible. Aim to manage excess sebum instead of trying to dry it out. Start with a cleansing oil to dissolve sebum, dirt, and makeup. Wash it away with an oil-free face wash that doesn’t have fragrance. Apply a face mask to soak up extra sebum, and finish with a moisturizer to avoid dryness. Honey, green tea, papaya, and clay are ideal natural ingredients for oily skin.
For oily skin type, use 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar mixed in 1 cup water or 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice mixed in 1 cup filtered water. For all skin types, brew 1 cup chamomile or green tea. Cool it down to use. Or infuse 1 cup water/witch hazel with 1/2 cup cucumber. Equally soothing is rose water. You can prepare it by adding 1/2 cup rose petals (fresh or dried) to 2 cups filtered water.
All types of skin benefit from periodic deep-down exfoliating and nourishing mask treatment; if you have really oily skin, you may want to exfoliate at least once a week. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells, embedded dirt and toxins, and stimulates the skin, making it receptive to the nutrient-rich facial mask[.....]
