Home Remedies For Acne Scars
Acne marks will generally fade away over time. However, if you cannot stand the wait, use the following home remedies for acne scars:
Vit E Oils
Apply any Vitamin E enriched oil like Almond oil, Olive oil or Lavender oil over the marks 10 minutes before bath everyday. You can also open a Vitamin E capsule and apply the oil on the affected area
Gently rub 5 drops of Kumkumadi taila (ayurvedic oil) on to your face for 5 minutes, once daily. Wash off with warm water.
Apply lime/lemon juice on the affected areas at bedtime. Dilute with water if you find the acetic acid stinging. Wash off with cold water in the morning.
Mix baking soda with water to use as a natural scrub. Keep it on the skin for 10 minutes and wash off with cold water.
Honey is good for people with sensitive clean. Raw or Manuka honey is the best. Just dab some honey on the affected area and wash off after a few minutes.
Use the sap from an aloe-vera plant to apply on the affected area overnight.
Mix sandalwood paste with coconut milk or honey and apply on the skin for 30 minutes and wash off with cold water.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Dab diluted apple cider vinegar with cotton balls on the affected areas and wash off after a few minutes with cold water.
Crush a tomato and apply it on your face. Wash off with plain lukewarm water after 20 minutes
Take 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds and boil it in a cup (250 ml) of water for 10-15 minutes. Cool the solution and strain the water. Apply the water on the scars. Do not rinse it out.
Crush a fresh leaf and apply it on scars for 30 minutes before rinsing it off with water.
You can use sugar or oatmeal mixed with rose water to form abrasive scrubs to exfoliate skin. Don’t be too harsh, rub it on the skin for 2-3 minutes before washing it off with cold water. Follow up with a gentle cream or coconut/almond oil.
Vit C Rich Foods
Eat foods high in Vitamin C like oranges, tangerines, chili peppers, guavas, bell peppers, dark leafy greens, broccoli, cauliflower, kiwis, papayas and strawberries.
Vit E Rich Foods
Eating foods high in Vitamin E repairs your skin from within. Sunflower seeds, almonds, pine nuts, paprika, red chili powder, peanuts, basil, oregano, dried apricots, spinach, and cooked taro root are rich sources.
