Now, most of us are aware that iron and calcium are very important for the body, but we tend to ignore magnesium. Magnesium is the second most abundant element in human cells and the fourth most important positively charged ion in the body. It helps the body regulate over 325 enzymes and plays an important role in organizing many bodily functions, like muscle control, electrical impulses, energy production and the elimination of harmful toxins. So, Epsom Salts is a natural mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate, both of which are easily absorbed through the skin. Have a look at the immense benefits it can provide you:

Benefits of Epsom Salt Bath:

1. Reduce Stress

Stress usually drains the body of magnesium and the adrenaline levels tend to increase. So, when Epsom Salts are dissolved in warm water, magnesium is absorbed through the skin. The magnesium helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of calm and relaxation. It can also increase energy with the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the energy packets made in the cells. It improves sleep and concentration helping muscles and nerves to function properly. Experts recommend taking an Epsom salt bath at least 3 times a week to feel good, look good and increase energy.

2. Good for Skin

If you have dry and itchy skin, Epsom Salt bath is the best solution. It can also be helpful for conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Though, if you have any serious skin conditions it is recommended you see a doctor before a soak. Mineral rich Epsom salt baths can keep your skin smooth, but always make sure to rinse away any salt left on your skin after the bath. Using a good moisturizer after bath can help keep your skin smooth. You could also add moisturizing oils to your bath. Also remember to use warm water and limit your time in water.

3.  Ease Muscle Pain

Epsom salts work as a muscle relaxant. The deep soak also helps get blood flowing to sore muscles. It reduces inflammation and make it a great pain reliever for even migraine headaches.

They can also help detox and are great for your health! Do try an Epsom Salt Bath and observe the relaxation you experience after.
