Pomegranates are so powerful that they can even rebuild the liver from alcohol and drug abuse. Their astringent taste balances Kapha, but sweeter kinds can balance all three doshas. Since it heightens agni, it should be eaten in the late morning before lunch.

While this superfruit balances Vata and Pitta, unripe green mangoes should be avoided by Pitta. It also boosts ojas and rasa and should be enjoyed early in the day.
