Ear massage helps you to relax by reducing stress. First, rub the widest upper part of your ears with your thumb while you hold them using your index and middle fingers. You can also use your index finger to massage inside the smaller crevices if your thumbs do not fit in. Finally, pull down the earlobes gently while making circles with your thumb and index finger.

Ear Acupressure

The Auricular Nerve (i.e. the nerve that goes to the ear) branches to Cranial Nerves and Cervical Nerves thus making ear massage an effective part of your acupuncture treatment. Ear massage is an extremely relaxing and effective therapy aimed at reducing stress, promoting well being and addressing various health issues.

Here’s how you can massage ears

  1. Rub, in small circular motions with your thumbs, inside the widest upper part of the ears while you hold them from outside with your index and middle fingers.
  2. Use your index finger to massage inside the smaller crevices and along the front of your ear where it attaches to the head if your thumbs do not fit.
  3. Lastly, massage the earlobes by gently pulling them down and also making circles with your thumb and index finger.

Ask your acupuncturist to show you where to massage on your ear to help enhance the treatments.
