The Revolutionary back stretch to help ease low back pain

Each and every day we place compression forces on our spine that for some can cause pain, arthritis and other neurological conditions. Whether  you feel discomfort or not, ‘creating space” within the spine is something that should be done daily.

French Osteopath Guy Voyer D.O. developed spinal specific postures called ELDOA (Etirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation Osteo-Articulaire). The word ELDOA is a French acronym but in English it simple can be stated as LOADS (Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretches).  Stretches meant to create space, increase blood flow, reduce pressure in the inte-vertebral discs, normalize the myofascial tensions, lesson pain, improve posture and increase muscle tone and awareness.

As mentioned these postures are spinal segmental specific. Check this  video for a demonstration for one of the most highly affected spinal segments, the L5/S1 or the Lumbosacral Joint.
