How to Stay Hydrated While You Excessively Puke

How to Stay Hydrated While You Puke Your Brains Out

Nothing like a touch of food poisoning to have you cutting deals with your maker about how you swear you will be a better person, be kinder, eat healthier, love your family and more.

From 1:00 am until the sun came up, one violent wave after another emptying every last bit of anything left in my belly. No, this wasn’t an average throw up fest, this was, “Get it all out and now”.

Anyway, I emerged from our lovely bathroom and crawled to the kitchen. Since I was extremely de-hydrated, I had to drink something. Thus, this is the drink I made to keep from becoming de-hydrated. I made this fennel tea electrolyte drink.

I fixed my drink, went back to bed and just sipped on it throughout the entire next day while I stayed in bed. I definitely couldn’t eat anything, so I just drank this very soothing, healing electrolyte tea all day long.

When I investigated as to why I had food poisoning, it turns out that the leftovers I heated up after coming home at 6pm, had been left out since early in the day without my knowing it. It really is a good idea to put the food back in the fridge.

Anyway, if you ever find yourself in this kind of that puking situation, you don’t want to get dehydrated. So, the original intent of this writing was to share my really useful anti-hydration tea.

Hydration Tea

Instructions

1. Place dried fennel seed into a pot with a lid on it. I use stainless steel Revere pots; glass and enamel pots also work well
2. Bring water and fennel seed to a boil and then immediately turn off the fire
3. Add marshmallow root
4. Let herbs steep for ½ hour
5. Using a metal strainer, remove the fennel and marshmallow from the tea
6. Add salt, baking soda and honey and mix well

Note: Drink up to up to 3 or 4 cups a day warm or at room temperature
