Using Peppermint Oil As An Effective Lung Cleanser

The Complementary and Traditional Medicine Unit at the Institute of Technology in Israel investigated the clinical effects of aromatic essential oils in patients with upper respiratory tract infections.

–It was concluded that the application of spray solution of aromatic essential oils, including peppermint oil brought immediate and significant improvement of upper respiratory ailment symptoms.

–The expectorant action of peppermint oil can help clear symptoms of upper respiratory congestion that may stem from allergies, asthma, cold, flu, bronchitis, and the like. For this reason, it’s often an ingredient in therapeutic lung cleansing balms that are rubbed on the chest. This allows for vapors to be almost directly inhaled through the nasal passages and cut through congestion.

–Expectoration can help to clear the airways and restore the lungs to health much more quickly. Just breathing in the aroma from these volatile oils can help to ease congestion.

–Peppermint oil can also help when taken orally as well.

–Peppermint oil is rich in important minerals like phosphorous, magnesium, potassium and calcium. Using peppermint oil internally can help to make up for these nutrient deficiencies, and this in turn can make for a stronger immune system which can better deal with allergies or microbial infections, including those that attack the respiratory tract.

Whether used topically or orally, peppermint oil is a natural therapy well worth consideration.
