Mango smoothies are not only yum, but also nutritious and filling. Mix the following ingredients in a blender: 1 mango, 1 banana, 3 ounces of orange juice, 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk, 1 small Swiss chard leaf, 1/4 cup reduced-fat Greek style yogurt, 3 tbsp of chopped kale, and 5-6 ice cubes. Pulse the mix until smooth. Re-energize yourself with every sip of this wonder drink.

What are you going to do with the mango that’s been sitting in your fruit bowl staring at you?

Well, how about adding a banana, a splash of unsweetened almond milk, a dollop of reduced-fat Greek yogurt, the green freshness of kale and Swiss chard, toss in a few ice cubes and yes this is an early morning mouth party.

I love this one as a bird loves to fly.

I spent 5 years serving in the United States Coast Guard. Being active and fit was a major part of being in the military. Once I left it I had to find ways to maintain the same active and healthy lifestyle. I started a journey to lose weigh and be more active. This journey has led me to embark on nursing school so that I could better understand how to body works. During my time in nursing school has truly changed the way I have approached health, nutrition and overall fitness.
