Hair loss and premature graying are the most prominent hair-related issues we face today. Most of us end up with these problems at a young age. Before going for any cosmetic remedies, try these Ayurvedic herbs. These simple home remedies will give you thick luscious hair without any side effects.

In case you’re losing hair more often than usual, these Ayurveda herbs for hair loss could provide you ways to prevent as well as cure the malady of hair fall.

Ayurvedic Herbs For Hair Fall

1. Bhringraj

This herb is generally prescribed for both the ailments of hair fall and premature graying of the hair. You can take it orally, in the form of a powder, and also applied externally on to the scalp in the form of medicated oil.

Regularly massaging with this oil will help improve blood circulation in your scalp, which helps restore the health of hair follicles and increase hair growth. The oil can be made at home using a carrier oil or purchased.

2. Aamla

Also known as the Indian Gooseberry, this herb is quite beneficial in treating hair loss. It enriches the hair quality and reduces hair fall by preventing the damage to hair follicles by free radicals. It also helps give the hair a good color and maintain the luster.

Take approximately one teaspoon twice a day on an empty stomach. Aamla can also be applied as a paste to the scalp.

3. Triphala

Triphala is a mix of three fruits, that is, Amalaki (aamla; Phyllanthus emblica), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), and Bibhitaki (Termanlia belerica). Considering it has aamla in its formulation, this ayurvedic herbal mix aids in combating hair fall and graying hair as well.

You can use it externally as a hair wash and also take it internally as a cleansing/detoxifying medicine.

4. Scalp Massage

Gentle massage of the scalp with medicated herb oil, sesame seeds oil, mustard oil, or coconut oil preferably half to one hour prior to head wash is recommended at least twice a week. The gentle massage will help strengthen the roots of the hair and condition the scalp and also increase blood circulation, rejuvenating the hair follicles.

5. Camphor

Mix a piece of camphor in hair oil and massage it into the scalp on alternate days or twice a week and make sure you use synthetic camphor. It helps eliminate dandruff, which in turn helps avoid itchy scalp and reduce hair fall.

6. Navayas Lauh, Swarn Makshik, Etc.

Some Ayurvedic formulations like Navayas lauh, Swarn Makshik, etc. have also proved valuable for curing the malady of hair fall.

 7. Bhram Rasayan

This is another formulation that generates a calming and soothing effect on the brain nerves and also tends to uproot the basic cause of the ailment of hair fall. It also helps prevent early graying of hair.
