In Sickness And In Health: Zooming In On Hope

There are two kinds of approaches to living. One is accepting the everyday humdrum as our normal and mindlessly following it till our last breath. The other is seizing each moment as an opportunity to actually LIVE life.

Everyone who dares to live (or doesn’t) is a survivor of sorts—survivors of life. Momentary captures, a.k.a. photographs, make our struggles and victories through life timeless. On World Photography Day (19th August), here’s our tribute to inspiring captures of transformation and hope.

With the creation of new memories, we subject our bodies to change. These changes may be brought about by…

Consistent Conditioning

A healthy body can be sculpted through an adopted lifestyle. Don’t wait for the ‘right’ time to start living healthy. Start now.

A Conscious Decision

The decisions we make to realize the lives we have envisioned for ourselves may not always be pain free (It mostly isn’t!). Persevere through the pain to be happy long-term. The key is in absorbing the magic in extraordinarily ordinary moments.

An Uninvited Sickness

Draw courage from the bow tattoos of this mother-daughter duo who conquered cancer together. ‘Together’ is what we need to strive for when facing our worst fears.

Old Age Creeping In

Old age

Just look at 82-year-old Sarah “Paddy” Jones, a renowned salsa dancer. Need we say more? Age is just a number that needs to be remembered only at the doctor’s. Don’t hesitate to accept challenges and constantly improve yourself despite being on the wrong side of sixty.

Inevitable Fate

Sometimes unforeseen events, like accidents, leave us feeling helpless and hopeless. Surpass all physicality and leap fearlessly into new experiences. You are as healthy as you feel. Do away with self-limiting mental blocks.

Some changes are more welcome than others. However, we need to learn to take life in our own stride, despite a constant ticker, and focus on the much touted silver linings. Don’t let ill health or old age diminish your vigour, curiosity, and youthfulness. Fervently celebrate your existence and uniqueness as you sail through each day.
