Hypertension: An Ayurvedic Perspective

Bookmark

by

Hypertension (known as Rakta Gata Vata in ayurveda) is elevated pressure of the blood in the arteries. The occurrence of hypertension will depend primarily on body type and genetic susceptibility (or likely imbalances).

Healing in ayurveda is carried out by first identifying your unique dosha (skin/body type). So, if you wish to manage your hypertension the ayurvedic way, it is very important for you to know your ayurvedic dosha or body type.

This in turn will help you to know the right treatment protocol i.e the proper diet, lifestyle habits, and the proper herbal treatments that would be suitable for pacifying and reducing your hypertension.

Here is a video to help you classify and understand the three major types of hypertension, their causes and symptoms as per your body type i.e. vata, pitta, and kapha.
