What Are The Home Remedies For Blurry Vision?

What would be your answer, if someone asked you, “which one of the five senses you find very important?” Obviously, all the senses are important, but just for the sake of answering, which one would it be? After thinking for a while, I presume, most of you would definitely prefer sight.

However, eyes as an organ are not a simple one and faces quite a problem, which ends up resulting in the poor sight. Therefore, to have a clear and better sight, one must have maintain healthy eyes. One of the problems that most has to complain about the most related to eyes is the blurred vision.

What is blurry vision?

The term blurry vision is self-explanatory. It can happen at any time and can be a temporary condition or indication of something more serious. Often, the effects of blurred vision is felt either after going from dark into light, however, sometimes it can be associated with real health conditions, like diabetes and may be indicative of a more serious eye condition.

Most of the times, blurry vision is not a serious issue but can lead to serious problems if not dealt in time. However, when blurred vision is associated with other symptoms such as nausea, extreme fatigue, or severe headaches then one should seek medical attention to be sure that there isn’t something more serious going on.

What Causes Blurry Vision?

Many eye disorders like glaucoma, cataract, presbyopia, myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism can cause blurred vision.

Natural Remedies for Blurry Vision

Vitamin A: Vitamin A is a necessary part of any healthy lifestyle, but it’s extremely important when it comes to your vision. Taking Vitamin A supplements is an excellent idea to ensure that you are getting the proper levels, however there are many foods that can contribute to this natural cure.

Liquorice: Taking half a teaspoon of the liquorice root as part of a drink can be an excellent natural cure for blurred vision.

Chicory: Chicory root is an excellent natural cure for any sort of vision problems, especially blurred vision. This has natural food supplements to it that are good for the optic system and are high in Vitamin A concentration as well. You may mix chicory juice with juices of carrots, celery, and parsley and drink.

Vegetables: Certain natural remedies such as spinach, milk, cabbage and carrots can provide relief for blurred vision.

Others: Other natural remedies include using liquorice root mixed with beverages, or using powdered liquorices with honey, butter and milk.

What to avoid?

Tobacco clogs the small vessels of the retina and the smoke received in the eye damages the cornea. Tobacco generates free radicals and obstructs the small vessels of the retina.

How to maintain better eye sight?

– Eat a lot of vegetables, fruits and also sugar and protein.
– Fruits and vegetables rich in lutein and zeaxanthin are very useful to preserve sight. Richest in these two pigments are: asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, zucchini, endive, spinach, kiwi, corn, peas, peppers and grapes.
Carrot contains beta carotene beneficial for eyesight and vision.
– Indian spinach contains carotenes that help in soothing and relaxing eyes.
– Eating almond in the morning after full night water soaking is also helpful in getting rid of blurred vision.
– Applying rosewater on your eyes using a soaked cotton cloth can also be beneficial.

I've read so many articles that praise the use of Vitamin A. It really makes me question myself about why I don't eat more carrots. That food is good for not only your digestive system, but also for your eyes. Maybe it will help me read faster if I ate more of them.
