Here are three herbal detox drink recipes that you can make in the morning and sip throughout the day!
1. Ayurveda Detoxifying Tea
The use of cumin, coriander, and fennel in this tea filters out the harmful elements while replenishing it with essential nutrients for your body. In Ayurveda, teas are the traditional method of delivering the medicinal effects of herbs and spices to your body’s tissues.
- 1 ½ cups of water
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tsp coriander seeds
- 2 tsp fennel seeds
- Boil 1 1/2 cups of water
- Add the whole cumin, coriander, and fennel seeds.
- Let steep for 5 minutes, or until it cools to a comfortable drinking temperature.
- Strain and serve, discarding the spices.
2. Green Tea “3P” Fruit Juice
Making green tea detox drinks is a great way to boost your overall health and get the antioxidants you need each day. In the 3 “P”s, the pear adds fiber to the equation while the papaya and pineapple bring massive amounts of Vitamin C to your body.
- 1 cut green tea, brewed
- 1/2 pear, sliced
- 1/2 cut pineapple, cubed
- 1/2 cup papaya, cubed
Blend them all together to get a smooth mixture.
3. Supercharged Barley Grass Detox
Barley grass is loaded with vitamins, favorable enzymes, and essential amino acids and helps with its high antioxidant content.
- Juice of one lemon
- Juice of one orange
- 1 tsp lemon rind, grated
- 1 pear, cored
- 1 cup dried barley grass
- 3 1/2 ounces (100 g) shelled hemp seeds
- 2 tsp raw tahini
- 2 tsp raw agave nectar
Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
