Spring into action and clean your home. Get rid of things you haven't used in 6 months. Ventilate your home; feel the energy change. Spring offers the best produce - support your local farmers market, eat seasonal fruits and veggies. Carry sunscreen and sunglasses to shield your skin and eyes. Ease allergy symptoms with lavender, lemon, and peppermint natural oils.

Spring is upon us and it’s the perfect time to do some cleaning and start new wellness habits. It’s time to head outside for fitness activities, walks in the park, and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Tips To Be Spring Ready

Spring Clean Your Home

Start with a fresh cleaning of your home. Get rid of anything that no longer serves you. I always tell my kids if you haven’t used it, worn it, or played with it in 6 months, you don’t need it. Have a yard sale or donate any items that you or your kids no longer need or want. Now that the house is all cleaned out, time to clean up. Open those windows and let the fresh spring air in, make a batch of your favorite all-purpose cleaner and get to cleaning. When my home is straightened up and cleaned I can feel a shift in the energy. Can you?

Eat Fresh And Local (Organic, If Possible)

Opt for fresh, organic fruits and veggies at your local farmers market. Support your local farmers while nourishing your body properly. Plus, local foods always taste better since they don’t have to travel as far as grocery store goods. Eating seasonally means it’s also time to eat lighter foods like fruit, big green salads, and fruity drinks.

Bring Out The Shades, Sun Screen And Bug Spray

When it’s time to head outdoors, grab your sunglasses to protect your eyes from the harsh rays of the sun, your favorite non-toxic sunscreen and Essential Oils to keep those pesky bugs away (my favorite oil to use is the Repellent Blend). Make sure to check out the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Database to find out which sunscreens are safe.

Stay Allergy-Attack Ready

If you’re one of the lucky ones that suffer from seasonal allergies, then maybe spring isn’t all that fun for you. Instead of stocking up on allergy medications, try going all-natural with essential oils. Try using lavender, lemon and peppermint to ease allergy symptoms. Of course, you can’t forget the usual drinking plenty of water, exercise daily and get a good night’s sleep. These are things you should be doing year-round! Being well means feeling good and enjoying life. It’s something we all have to work on daily. If you don’t feel well, every area of your life will be impacted. Try to look at making these lifestyle changes as an opportunity to invest in your health. By cleaning up your diet and choosing all-natural, non-toxic products you’re well on your way to feeling great!
