Shingles thrives on a higher arginine to lyine ratio in the body. Eat Lysine rich foods: meats, fish, yogurt, cheese, milk, eggs, apples, pears, apricots, avocados, pineapples, green beans, and asparagus. Avoid Arginine rich foods: tomatoes, wheat germ, brussels sprouts, cashews, grapes, pumpkin seeds, pecan, blackberries, blueberries, peanuts, chocolate, and sugar.

Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful rash. It (herpes zoster) is a secondary outbreak of the chicken pox virus. Although, shingles can occur anywhere on your body, most of the times it appears as a single stripe of blisters either on the left or the right side of your torso.

What Causes Shingles?

Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus – the same virus that causes chickenpox. It can happen decades after the original infection. Basically, after you’ve had chickenpox before, the virus lies inactive in nerve tissue near your spinal cord and brain. Years later, the virus may reactivate as shingles. When it occurs for the first time, it usually appears in circular patterns.

Is It Lethal?

Shingles isn’t a life-threatening condition. However, it can be very painful. It is usually less severe the second time. Vaccines can help reduce the risk of shingles, while early treatment can help shorten a shingles infection and lessen the chance of complications.

How To Get Rid Of Shingles Naturally?

If shingles is treated appropriately, the virus outbreak will be short-lived. Since it is Herpes virus, it can only thrive in a body with a weakened immune system. The herpes family of viruses are particularly effected by a person’s L-arginine to L-lysine ratio. These are natural amino acids that are found inside the human body, but they come from foods. There must be a greater level of arginine in the body for herpes viruses to thrive. Therefore, reducing the level will help a lot.

Foods With Lysine Should Be Eaten More

All meats, Fish, Yogurt, Cheese, Milk, Eggs, Apples, Pears, Apricots, Avocados, Pineapples, Green beans, and Asparagus.

Foods With Arginine Should Be Avoided

Tomatoes, Wheat Germ, Brussels sprouts, Cashews, Grapes, Pumpkin Seeds, Pecan, Blackberries, Blueberries, Peanuts, Chocolate, and Sugars.

Flaxseed Oil

Flaxseed oil supplies essential fatty acids that are important for a healthy nervous system and for healthy skin. Take 1 tablespoon twice a day.

Capsaicin is a natural compound derived from cayenne or chili pepper, and it can be used topically for pain relief. It is available in ointment form as Zostrix, and can be applied four to five times daily for pain relief. It works by blocking pain signals from nerves just under the skin, and is very effective in reducing the pain of herpes zoster.

Cat’s-claw extract has anti-inflammatory and antiviral actions. Take 1,000 milligrams three times a day.

Garlic has antiviral properties. Take 2 capsules of garlic extract twice a day for a week. Or just add a few minced garlic cloves to food such as pasta or salad every day for as long as you have shingless.

Lemon Balm

Lemon balm, also known as melissa, contains compounds known as polyphenols that have anti-herpes properties, and is felt by some to be a first- choice herbal treatment. Use topical applications of lemon-balm tea, which you can make by steeping 2 to 4 teaspoons of herb per cup of boiling water.

Reishi Mushroom Extract

Reishi mushroom extract stimulates the immune system to fight infections such as herpes. Take 500 milligrams three times a day.

Peppermint Oil

Similar to cayenne pepper, menthol in peppermint oil produces a cooling sensation that overrides or dampens zoster-related pain signals.

I once got it when I was a teen around 1969. At first, it started on the left side of my belly and then continued until it completed the circle. The pain was almost unbearable. I went to see a doctor but that didn't help. I even met quite a few whacky doctors. The paint kept goes on until I met an old woman at a small market in a countryside of Vietnam. She told me a very simple remedy that worked perfectly for me. The remedy was that I need to get quite a few of undergrown bitter melon. First I put a few of them in a bowl and smashed them to tiny pieces. Then put all of these smashing pieces into a Cheese Cloth and wrapped around my belly.
The first day, these smashed bitter melons helped dry down the blister of the Shingles and reduced the paint.

The second day, the drying and healing process continue. I noticed the blisters of the Shingles dried down quite a bit.

On the third day, these blisters almost dried down and the paint was very minor. I was so happy about it.

On the fourth day, all of these blisters were gone and I seemed don't feel the paint at all.

On the fifth day, I came back to look for that old woman to pay my gratitude to her. But I could find her.

Now I am telling this to whoever unfortunately having the Shingles problem.

Good Luck.

Combine a mix of Peppermint, lemon balm, spearmint, hyssop, licorice, rosemary, sage, thyme and oregano for a super-therapeutic tea, making it a super drink to work against shingles and its effects. Apply the fridge-cooled tea bag right onto the rash for soothing relief and medicinal value.

Ditto Mary, you people always talk about your gross disgusting medical issues when you can talk inside the walls of your doctor's offices, you have no class you're just wretched miserable beings who have no proper standards about anything, you're just wild animals who attack every human that has structure, class and sanity who lives proper. You people are shameful and a disgrace and need to know your place, not everyone wants talk aloud about your nastiness. Decent people have more class.

I had shingles when I was in my early 20s and it was one of the most painful experiences of my life!! That said, why on earth would anyone want to take a pill or get an injection to prevent getting shingles when the likelihood of getting it is like 50%?? Big Pharma & their fear tactics got people brainwashed BIG time!!!

Oh wow Vanessa, And a Dr. told me having the shingles was my "shot" and that they wouldn't come back. That is NOT true. They can come back. For me, it is my body's signal to watch how I take care of myself.

The shot for shingles is only available to those 65 years or older... I think it's ridiculous because you can get it at any age.. I had shingles 2 years ago I was 24 it was the most painful thing I've ever been through and no they won't give me a shot to prevent it from coming back..

Shingles indeed can be on one side of the body. They can go from middle front of torso to the back, on the same side!! I know from experience. Perhaps we are saying the same thing in different ways

Casey Fillenwarth
Casey Fillenwarth 5pts

Well, for one, the bottom picture is inaccurate. Shingles only occurs on one side of the body. Blisters would not cross over the back to the other side of the body. If it does, it is not shingles and you do need to see a doctor. It could be a possible allergic reaction or many other things.

False. I got shingle quite a month ago (thanks God I am fine now) , and I had it on my neck , on my right jaw and on my right ear.

Those aren't shingles. Shingles would only be on one side of the body along a nerve.
