While I have  nothing against garlic, be cautious in accepting tall claims  with regard to its properties in prevention  or cure  of cancer,  cardiovascular diseases,or inflammation, lipid  control actions etc. There are  several factors that   may mar or cure such diseases The  studies  have  been  largely commercial driven although   no one admits it openly    .In India there exists one large   community called Jains  who  out of their religious  restrictions  avoid Garlic  and onions and their  health statistics  are   as good or as bad   any other  person . Fore that matter  for  centuries   Britishers detested garlic  but there is no evidence that they were  in any way unhealthy. All  substances have certain good  or bad features.

Another tamasi food recommended...Ayurveda is posting conventional western ideas, misleading.... Real ayurveda conforms with the authority of the Vedas... In the Agni Purana, the source of garlic and onions are described, and vegan dieters will readily appreciate it...... For external use only
