Now, most of us are aware that iron and calcium are very important for the body, but we tend to ignore magnesium. Magnesium is the second most abundant element in human cells and the fourth most important positively charged ion in the body. It helps the body regulate over 325 enzymes and plays an important role in organizing many bodily functions, like muscle control, electrical impulses, energy production and the elimination of harmful toxins. So, Epsom Salts is a natural mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate, both of which are easily absorbed through the skin. Have a look at the immense benefits it can provide you:
Benefits of Epsom Salt Bath:
1. Reduce Stress
Stress usually drains the body of magnesium and the adrenaline levels tend to increase. So, when Epsom Salts are dissolved in warm water, magnesium is absorbed through the skin. The magnesium helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of calm and relaxation. It can also increase energy with the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the energy packets made in the cells. It improves sleep and concentration helping muscles and nerves to function properly. Experts recommend taking an Epsom salt bath at least 3 times a week to feel good, look good and increase energy.
2. Good for Skin
If you have dry and itchy skin, Epsom Salt bath is the best solution. It can also be helpful for conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Though, if you have any serious skin conditions it is recommended you see a doctor before a soak. Mineral rich Epsom salt baths can keep your skin smooth, but always make sure to rinse away any salt left on your skin after the bath. Using a good moisturizer after bath can help keep your skin smooth. You could also add moisturizing oils to your bath. Also remember to use warm water and limit your time in water.
3. Ease Muscle Pain
Epsom salts work as a muscle relaxant. The deep soak also helps get blood flowing to sore muscles. It reduces inflammation and make it a great pain reliever for even migraine headaches.
They can also help detox and are great for your health! Do try an Epsom Salt Bath and observe the relaxation you experience after.

I put half a cup in my kids baths but dont rinse them off after the bath. Just wondering is it essential to rinse off after the bath. Thanks
Nel Rommes Absolutely, but its not that simple. When Epsom salts are added to a warm bath, some magnesium can be absorbed through the skin, causing an increased release of insulin, leading to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)!
I bought a bag of Epsom Salts with Lavender. My friend uses it all the time and it helps her aching body.... Then I saw on the bag it says "Do not, use if your are Diabetic". :( :( :(
I think Jessaca is referring to the salt in the ocean, forgetting the Japan incident pouring daily in our ocean.. just saying
So it is "osmosis"? Yorr brain turns off, you ignore your reality for 30mins? Is that dumb or dumber?
I take a bath w/ these salts. It's so soothing for dry skin and we all know as we age our skin gets dry.
My daughters take an Epsom salt bath every single night...1 1/2 to 2 cups a night with doTERRAs frankincense essential oil or vetiver EO :)
Just took one last night. Felt notably relaxed, slept well, wasn't tired at work with jess sleep, increased mood.
Running a sea salt bath right now. I do this at least 3 times a week, most weeks.Sometimes I add more things like: baking soda to counter the calcium in non filtered water, Tumeric with coconut milk, chlorella, dried lavender, few drops of essential oils like peppermint or lemon....not all at once!
If you don't start soaking in Epsom salts you will die of cancer or Deases . The American diet has little to none . Making death by 65 a big possibility . Swim in ocean every 3 days or soak in magnisium salts . Now .. Today
