How To Add Antioxidant-Rich Turmeric In A Smoothie?

Add 1 cup hemp or coconut milk, 1/2 cup frozen pineapple or mango chunks, 1 fresh banana, 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ginger, 1 tsp chia seeds and 1 tsp maca in a blender and process until smooth. Consume in the morning, on an empty stomach. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antioxidant properties.

We are all aware of the amazing healing properties of turmeric, and what could be better than starting your day with it! Here’s a recipe for an antioxidant packed turmeric smoothie you can start your day with!

Turmeric Smoothie recipe:

Use organic ingredients wherever possible. Also do not substitute actual milk for hemp or coconut milk.

Ingredients:

– 1 cup hemp or coconut milk
– 1/2 cup frozen pineapple or mango chunks
– 1 fresh banana
– 1 tablespoon coconut oil
– 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (can be increased to 1 tsp)
– 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1/2 teaspoon ginger
– 1 teaspoon chia seeds
– 1 teaspoon maca (optional)

Directions:

Blend all the ingredients together and process until smooth. Try having this the first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach to stay healthy!

Turmeric is very commonly used in Indian cuisine, to add flavour and aroma. It contains an active compound curcumin which is known to have a variety of healing benefits including antioxidant, antibacterial, anti inflammatory and anti viral properties. It is one of the most effective natural remedies for stomach and liver ailments. It also helps boost liver detox, as it assists enzymes that actively flush out dietary carcinogens. It is also known to be great for the skin.
