1. Parabens

They are easily found in shampoo, conditioners, styling products, soaps, body washes, moisturizers, shaving creams and gels, your cosmetic products, toothpaste, etc. Seeing the long list of products with paraben, you must be thinking that it’s impossible to escape this harmful chemical in any way. Parabens have been linked to cancer, certain biochemical changes, reproductive toxicity, and endocrine disruption in severe cases. Try opting for homemade organic alternatives as much as you can.

They are found in all kinds of fingernail products, lip products, eyeliners, eye shadows, blushes, deodorants, and some types of hair products. They are especially found in the perfumes with sweet scent made for women.Various studies show that this harmful chemical can cause various kinds of cancer and reproductive toxicity. All in exposure to phthalates are in risk of its side-effects.To save yourself from the effects of this chemical, try to identify if they have an artificial smell or “unidentified” fragrance.

3. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) And Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)

They are found in everything that foams and lathers. Shampoos, conditioners, body washes, hand washes, toothpaste, cleansers, moisturizers, etc. You name it, and there will high or low amount of these toxic chemicals present in them. They are also present in the whitening products.
Skin irritation is only one side of the story, there are other serious issues linked with exposure to SLS and SLES. They increase the soaking capacity of the skin by penetrating through them. Other synthetic and harmful chemicals can also get into your skin and harm you in a deeper level.

There are many chemicals which release formaldehyde as a reaction as you use them. Try to avoid products that have the most common forms formaldehyde-releasing preservatives: Diazolidinyl urea, Imidazolidinyl urea, Dimethyl-dimethyl hydantoin, and Quaternium-15.

6. Propylene Glycol

They are founds in lotions and moisturizers. The FDA has approved it as safe for any topical application. But, products with this chemical causes skin irritation, allergies, and is toxic to human cells. It might also come in the way for a normal growth of skin cells, alter cell membranes and much more.

7. Toluene

Toluene is found in nail polishes and other nail treatment products.It has been linked with severe irritation in the skin and eyes, and also harms your lungs. It can cause developmental defects, birth defects, and damage your kidneys, nervous system and liver. In severe cases, it can also cause brain damage.

They are easily found in deodorants, body powders, cosmetics, blushes, bronzers, sunscreens, and other SPF products.They are also contaminated with asbestos which is a known carcinogen. Inhaling the fine particles of these things can harm your lungs, and increase the risks of cancer of your skin.
