Toxins. They are everywhere. In the air we breathe, the food we eat, the medications we take and the water we drink. Detoxification is the body’s way of metabolizing and removing toxins. It’s a process, the body does naturally, all on its own. It’s a common belief that detoxing is a one-time event, lasting anywhere from 24 hours to several weeks or more. But there’s no reason why you can’t take steps to detoxify your body on a continual basis. Here are 10 things you can do for daily detoxification!
1. Stay Hydrated
Dehydration prevents your body from being able to rid itself of accumulated waste. When you drink enough, you help flush those toxins out through elimination. Aim for between eight and 12 glasses of clean, fresh water each day.
2. Start Your Day With Lemon And Hot Water
It’s a great replacement for that caffeine to which so many of us are addicted, and it’s great for you. The lemon alkalizes your pH, which makes your body inhabitable to disease, and stimulates your digestion and liver cleansing function.
3. Eat Whole Foods
When you eat whole foods rather than packaged, processed food items, you avoid all of those chemicals, preservatives, and additives found in processed foods. You also gain antioxidants and enzymes that assist your body in working to flush toxins and combat the damage done by poor food choices, stress, lack of sleep, and exposure to environmental toxins.
4. Watch Less TV And News
You might not have made the connection between watching too much TV and news stories and having an overload of toxins in your body. But if you don’t keep your mind in a good spot, you’ll be more likely to do and feel things that lead to more toxicity.
5. Eat Enough Fiber
Soluble fiber from vegetables and fruits binds to the toxins in your gut and helps flush them out via elimination.
6. Get Some Exercise
When you get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, which can be as simple as a brisk walk, you power up your lungs and get that breath flowing. This helps pump toxins out on a continual basis, and makes your heart stronger, too.
7. Try Out The BSL (Brush, Scrape, And Lather) Protocol
This involves dry brushing your skin, scraping your tongue to get rid of toxins living there, and lathering your body with some nice soap. This stimulates the lymph canals, particularly if you use a good soap with natural essential oils like lavender.
8. Drink Green Tea Instead Of Coffee
Green tea is rich with antioxidants that help rid your liver and body of toxins.
9. Use The Sauna
When you submerge your body in hot air, your blood vessels increase in size and this improves the blood flow and therefore improves the transfer of nutrients and waste. That sweat leaving your body is full of toxins.
10. Practice Contrast Hydrotherapy
Basically, contrast hydrotherapy (CH) is the practice of exposing your body to contrasting temperatures: hot, then cold.
